Meet Your Teacher

Hi! I’m Brenda Lampman, the owner of Melodia Music Studio, and I’ve been teaching music for over 20 years. Helping students discover the joy of music—and grow in confidence along the way—is truly one of my greatest passions.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Music from Oral Roberts University, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Old Dominion University. My background in both music and psychology allows me to connect with students in a way that supports not just their musical growth, but their confidence and overall development as well.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching a wide range of students—from preschool through high school—in both private lessons and classroom settings. My experience includes serving as an elementary music teacher with Norfolk Public Schools and a middle school choral director with Chesapeake Public Schools, as well as teaching in Forsyth County Schools near Atlanta. I’ve also taught in private schools, directed children’s choirs, and led group piano classes.

In addition to teaching, I’ve spent over 20 years serving as a church music director—leading and training worship teams, choirs, instrumentalists, and vocalists and performing as a pianist, keyboardist and vocalist.

What I love most about teaching is that every student is unique. Each child learns differently and I enjoy discovering what motivates and inspires them. My goal is to create lessons that are fun, engaging, and encouraging—so students not only learn to play, but truly enjoy the process and feel proud of their progress.

Today, I offer piano lessons for kids, teens and homeschoolers in my home studio in the Grassfield area of Chesapeake, Virginia. I’d love to help your child begin their musical journey!

Have questions? I’d be happy to connect—feel free to reach out anytime.
